Balázs is the Head of Professional Talent Acquisition in Citi’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He has 15 years of experience in Human Resources - out of which he spent 12 years in leadership positions. Balázs has been leading the HR strategy building and implementation of various multinational companies.
Eszter Gárgyán
Chief Economist for Hungary at Citi
Eszter joined Citi in 2007 and since then she has provided economic research coverage for global and local clients and Citi management in close cooperation with the global Economic Research team. Prior to joining Citi Eszter worked as an economist for OTP Bank in Hungary covering banking and economics in the Eastern Europe. Eszter has been awarded as the best overall forecaster for Hungary in the 2019 FocusEconomics Analyst Forecast Awards. Eszter has a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Pécs and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Katalin Mónika Kozák
Business Strategy Manager of Citi’s Central Europe Cluster
Kata joined Citi Central Europe & Hungary Business strategy manager in 2018. She is the senior business support of the Managing Director responsible for Citi’s Central Europe cluster, and focusing on Citi’s businesses in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary, and the non-presence countries’ activities in the Baltics and Balkans. Prior to her current role in Citi, Kata was responsible for strategic business programs in Citi’s Consumer business in London, Hungary, Moscow between 2010- 2014. She started her banking career in Citi in 2009. Kata is passionate “world citizen” has lived in five countries so far and speaks five languages fluently. She holds a BSC in Economics, and EXMBA in Business Administration.

László is a seasoned business and program management professional with MBA, PMP®, and CLC certificate. 10+ years of SSC experience and 20+ years of Project and Program Management experience. Areas of Expertise: Project- Program and Portfolio Management, Executive Management – Business Management and Development – Change Management – Culture Development – Strategy Development – Sales strategy implementation. Built and led high performing international project teams and organizational PMO function in the SSC environment. Successfully led global project teams and various system and migration projects and programs (ERP implementation, Software Development, Time Management System, Legacy System Decommission, System Upgrade). Incorporating extensive Business Management and Project Management knowledge. Trained over a thousand people in project management, Human Resources and Enterprise Management. Mentor-Trainer and Certified Leadership Coach.
Dr. Gábor Mandák
Chief Country Compliance Officer
Gábor is the Compliance Director of Citi Hungary and the Compliance Head for Citi in the Central Europe sub-cluster (CE5). He has a degree in law, bar exam and a post-graduate degree in economics. During the first period of his career he worked as legal counsel in the banking sector for 16 years. In his current position since 2015, Gábor is responsible for the operation of Citi’s Global and European compliance program in Hungary and in CE5, which also includes the oversight of compliance with anti-money laundering (AML), Sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption (AB&C) related requirements.
Mónika Maurer
Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer
Mónika is Citi Hungary’s Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO). She has over 20 years of experience in the Hungarian banking sector and over 7 years on the AML area at Citi as AMLCO and as Head of the AML Department. Mónika has been with Citi for more than 15 years and she is a certified AML Specialist (ACAMS graduate).
László Nagy
Continuity of Business Senior Manager
László is Governance Lead for Citi Business Continuity Management (CBCM) in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. His main responsibility is to ensure that Citi’s Global Continuity of Business program is executed on a business entity, country, cluster and regional level in line with Citi’s Continuity of Business Policy, Standards and Testing Standards. He has been working in the IT industry for 20 years and joined Citi in 2015. He is committed to Business Continuity Management and to Operational Resiliency.
Zsolt Németh
Information Security Officer
Zsolt joined Citi in 2009 and gained experience in various departments. As a Fraud Analyst in the Consumer Bank’s Fraud Team he was detecting and investigating credit/debit and personal loan frauds. In 2015 he joined the EMEA Cyber Security Fusion Center as a threat analyst, and he currently holds the position of Information Security Officer. Zsolt has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communication and certifications as an institutional communicator, ISO 27001 auditor, and is a Certified Information Security Manager.
Hajnalka Nikolich-Bor
Securities Services Country Product Head
Hajnalka is the Securities Services Head for Hungary since 2011. After joining Citi Hungary in 2004, she fulfilled various positions in the local Securities Services team, both in operations and in the product team. Hajnalka is representing Citi Hungary in the Hungarian Banking Association, the Association of Investment Service Providers and is a member of the Settlement Committee of the Budapest Stock Exchange since 2013. Hajnalka has over 17 years of experience in the Hungarian capital market. She holds an M.B.A from the Central European University Business School and a B.A degree from Oxford Brookes University. She also holds a certificate of the Hungarian Banking Academy required for the provision of securities services.
Gábor Péter
EMEA Sourcing Manager for Facilities and Utilities
Gabor joined Citi in 2017. He has been in sourcing, in the world of facilities since 1996.Prior to Citi, Gabor worked over a decade for Shell and IBM in Asian and most in EMEA facilities roles. He studied linguistics, history, politics and law and has been an EU expert in law and politics.
Veronika Spanarova
Managing Director, Citi Country Head for Hungary
Veronika Spanarova assumed the role of Citi Country Head for Hungary in September 2020. In her current position Veronika is responsible for leading the growth of Citi’s businesses whilst maintaining the highest standards of franchise (bank and Citi Solutions Center) soundness in Hungary. Prior to her appointment to Hungary, Veronika spent four years as Citi Country Head for Slovakia, where she was also the bank’s Corporate Banking Head.

Since then, she has held various senior positions in the fields of Transaction Services, Corporate Banking, Consumer and Retail Banking areas in the Czech Republic, Brazil and Slovakia. Barna joined Citi in 2014, leading a remote team of 25+ sourcing professionals procuring realty services, security, business and travel services and executive services. Previously he worked in the banking, manufacturing and FMCG industries both in sales and on procurement side.
Klára Tatár-Kiss

Klára has over 20 years of HR director experience in various multinational corporations. She has experience not only with the Eastern European countries but previously Klara had a global Talent role based in a London Headquarter.
Klara throughout her career has been passionate about diversity, committed to promoting inclusive leadership and has been contributing to shaping the diversity agenda in her organizations. Her efforts were recognized both at the professional and personal level by receiving awards like Best Place to Work, Family Friendly Award, Disabled Friendly Workplace, and Healthy Workplace Award. Her personal commitment was rewarded at the society level when she received the Role Model Award from Lifegarden in 2016.
Klara is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Personal Development (FCIPD), a certified senior practitioner coach by EMCC, has a certificate of coaching from Henley Business School and holds a post-graduate diploma in Management Studies from Henley Business School. Additionally, she is a NLP Master Practitioner, has a post-graduate economist degree, and a university degree in Biology and English, and PhD in the field of Sociology, with a research focus on women leadership in transnational organizations.
Tibor Vantsa

Tibor manages the recruitment activities in Citi’s CE5 Region, covering Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria. Tibor has almost 20 years’ experience in recruitment. He spent the first years of his career with recruitment consulting agencies and then joined Citi in 2008. He has a BSc economist degree from the Budapest University of Economics and an MSc degree from Corvinus University.
