What area of business will you impact?
You’ll find graduates and interns throughout Citi. They help us make progress happen, working across a broad range of business divisions in all of our regions – Asia-Pacific, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), Latin America, and North America. On these pages, you’ll find a summary of the APAC business areas you could join.
PERSONAL BANKING & WEALTH MANAGMENT
You’ll find PBWM strategically positioned in the world’s top cities with one of the highest consumer banking growth potential, and across all four of our global regions. We have five three primary business lines: Branded and Retail Services, Retail Banking and Wealth Management, and Mortgage Credit Cards. Together, these account for 4,000 branches, $320 billion in deposits, $285 billion in loans, and $145 billion in assets under management. The Personal Banking & Wealth Management operates 2,348 branches with $291 billion in deposits, $300 billion in loans and$176 billion in assets under management. In fact, PBWM is the leading credit card issuer in the world, with more than $175 billion in receivables across branded and private label cards.
GLOBAL FUNCTIONS
Behind our businesses around the world, you’ll find specialized support groups and businesses focused on providing information and critical thinking to ensure long-term growth and efficient operations. There are opportunities within Human Resources, Finance, and Risk, depending on your locations.
INSTITUTIONAL CLIENTS GROUP
Home to a remarkable team of talented professionals from around the world, Citi’s Institutional Clients Group (ICG) comprises an international network of financial skills and capabilities. Our mission is to help top corporations, financial institutions, and governments meet and exceed their goals. To help them, we provide local and global insights, strategy, and solutions. ICG in APAC offers opportunities in Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory, Markets and Securities Services, Treasury and Trade Solutions, Credit Cards, Commercial Banking, and Citi Private Bank.
OPERATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY
Citi puts a strong emphasis on technology employing 110,000 people across 102 countries. At the core of the business is building technologies and using the latest technology stack to drive improved business processes for our clients. There is a wide range of technology used to support the backbone of our business – for example, setting up clusters of Hadoop & Hive to manage big data and utilizing the latest front-end technologies like HTML5/CSS3 with Angular JS (and others) to enable cutting-edge user interface.
Citi also makes significant investments in mobile technologies – iPhone, Android, and to a small extent, Windows Phone. For back-end, there are opportunities to dive into Java and .NET and build systems to manage huge data volumes with grid computing and server optimization techniques. If you are interested in the quantitative side of things and want to write algorithms to pick up trade signals, then there is a strong presence of Quants across all asset classes (Commodities, FX, Equities) where code is written in C. On the creative end of things, there are opportunities to focus on user interface and experience design.

Programs, Placements, and Internship Opportunities
At Citi, we’re interested in connecting with the most talented and ambitious people, irrespective of what stage of their studies they’ve reached. So here, alongside the more traditional graduate programs for Associates and Analysts, you’ll find internship opportunities that enable you to learn more about us during your studies – and challenge yourself at the same time. Here’s a quick look at the types of programs available in Asia-Pacific:
SUMMER INTERNSHIPS
One of the primary ways in which we identify the very best talent is through internships. These are paid programs aimed at penultimate-year students (although if you’re in a different year, don’t worry too much – we don’t like to turn away exceptional candidates). Internships generally run for 9—12 weeks over the summer, with some countries offering opportunities at other times of the year. You’ll be exposed to a mixture of training, social events, and professional experience. At the end of the internship, we offer the best people a full-time role, starting after graduation. Internships are available for analysts (undergraduate and Master’s students) and associates (MBA/PhD students).
FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE/ MASTER’S PROGRAM (ANALYST)
Our Analysts are bright, accomplished, and highly motivated people with
outstanding communication skills and a true passion for business. If you are in your last year of undergraduate or Master’s degree study, consider our Full-Time Analyst Program. The combination of in-depth training, mentorship opportunities, and interaction with clients and senior management will help launch you on your career path as an Analyst.
For a full list of available opportunities and events across the APAC region, please see our website oncampus.citi.com
FULL-TIME MBA PROGRAM (MBA OR PHD – ASSOCIATE)
Our Full-Time Associate Program is designed for those in their last year of an MBA, JD or PhD program with significant work experiences. We’re looking for candidates with wideranging backgrounds and interests to complement the diverse talents of our outstanding Associates. Our intensive training program is run by some of the best minds in the business, and is combined with real-world experience and senior executive exposure. It’s the perfect launch pad for a successful career at Citi.
PLACEMENTS
Our placements are long term and can range between 6 and 12 months. The scope of work and training is similar to that of our internship program, where you will be exposed to a mixture of training, social events, and professional experience. Placement opportunities and length are driven by university course and accreditation requirements. Please check with your university on available placement opportunities.

The Citi Foundation supports the economic empowerment and financial inclusion of people with low to moderate incomes in communities where Citi operates. The Foundation has four policy areas:
Through Financial Capability and Asset Building, we increase the number of people with low to moderate income who adopt positive financial behaviors and accumulate and preserve financial assets.
Using Microfinance, we increase the use of financial products, supplied by microfinance institutions, designed to improve and accelerate the financial inclusion of individuals with low to moderate income.
Enterprise Development helps to drive up the number of micro or small enterprises – each providing new income generation or employment opportunities for individuals with low to moderate income.
Finally, Youth Economic Opportunities works with young people aged 13–25, helping them generate income through high-quality, living-wage jobs or entrepreneurship pursuits. We aim to give young people competitive skills and access to financial and other resources, through a combination of education, livelihoods, vocational skills training, or entrepreneurship preparation.
